What drew you to Alphalake?

I was drawn to Alphalake because I was fascinated by the tech we offer and our impact on helping people and making their lives better. I am a huge geek and love tech and making pretty pictures, so being able to combine my interests and passions with work is a dream come true for me.

Fun, exciting, pioneering.

Do you believe the human touch element to still be prevalent in healthcare?

I think so. From physical to emotional, it's still really important to have that human element. I remember visiting people in the hospital, and it's still such a lonely experience when people aren't there to see you. Sometimes that nurse coming to check on you, be it taking some blood or even asking, "how are you today?" is the only human interaction you may have all day, and I think it's so important to keep that in healthcare.

To what extent do you believe that AI in healthcare will replace GPs/displace jobs?

I don't think it will fully displace jobs or replace GPs, as, at the end of the day, it exists to make human jobs easier! There are still some jobs out there that only a human can do; doctors still need to be able to check people over physically. Plus, if you really think about it, an AI doesn't have thumbs… yet!
